We were commissioned to help design and build a Wine Bar in De Beauvoir Town, Dalston. Jimmy, the client, wanted a friendly and colourful atmosphere, similar to the cafe and wine bars of France and Italy.

We decided to go with a warm timber palette, with relatively functional forms to relate to the traditional mediterrainian references in the brief. Working backwards from a functionalist perspective as per our design ethos, it was particularly enjoyable to introduce slightly opulent colourful tiles and some bright coloured walls, chosen by the client, to help create a charismatic and welcoming space.

This project was particularly enjoyable as the design evolved over time, with decisions being made collaboratively between us and Jimmy as the build progressed. It was an absolute pleasure to be involved.
