107. Domaine de la Hille

Humbled by the opportunity to design and build a significant portion of a luxurious villa in the South of France, we focused on the restoration of an 11th-century farmhouse, cherished by our clients. Our design encompassed a spacious kitchen, dining room, and four adjoining rooms, extending from the villa's entrance to the garden. Balancing functionality with the charm of traditional aesthetics in such a historic setting was a key consideration.

The outcome reflects our attempt to harmonize modern, purposeful design with traditional processes. In the main kitchen, we introduced a 4m solid oak shelving unit for enhanced storage, maintaining a seamless look through streamlined joinery. Integrated units in both the breakfast bar and kitchen run preserve functionality while drawing inspiration from traditional Chateaux design.

For the second chef's kitchen, prioritizing functionality, we incorporated large open storage spaces to accommodate extensive equipment for up to 20 people. The absence of doors enhances accessibility for the diverse chefs working in the space. The substantial solid oak island unit, utilizing traditional manufacturing techniques, grounds this kitchen in its environment and complements the overall structure.
